One source says he was christened in Swilland, Suffolk. That same source has him married to Ann Aldrich in Ellough, Suffolk on 15th January 1764, a marriage which produced at least 5 children: Samuel Page, Rev. Robert Leman Page, Admiral Benjamin William Page, Charlotte Flood (born Page) and Ann Elizabeth Gray (born Page). Benjamin William was the eldest of the five.
(Another source has him married to Ann Leman (1743-1830) which might explain the naming of a son, Robert Leman Page).
Benjamin Page was a tailor and a ship owner. It will be remembered that ships frequently had multiple owners being divided in quarters, eighths or even sixteenths. He was friendly with Rear-Admiral Sir Edward Hughes who certainly influenced Benjamin's early naval career
