Group Captain Anthony Mumford who died at Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary on 7th February 2006 was the husband - since 1986 - of Lady Mary Katherine Fitzalan Howard, CVO (b 1940), second daughter of the 16th Duke of Norfolk, KG, GCVO, GBE, TD, PC (1908-1975).
His wife is heir presumptive to the Lordship of Herries of Teregles (cr. 1490), held by her elder sister, Anne, since the death of their father in 1975.
Group Capt. Mumford is survived by his wife, a Lady-in-Waiting to Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy. He also leaves a son, Lowrey (from a previous marriage). The Requiem Mass takes place at St. Andrews, Dumfries on 11th February, 2006, followed by buriel at Arundel, West Sussex. A Requiem Mass will take place at the Cathedral of Our Lady and St. Philip Howard, Arundel, 7th March, 2006.
