Emily was the daughter of the Rector of Warkleigh in N Devon. This was probably either Rev. J J Thorold or Rev. Wm. Thorold.
She started the School for Ragged Children in Liverpool and continued as Chairman even after they moved to Palmira Square in Brighton sometime before 1900. After Edward's death in 1900 they moved to Brunswick Place, still in Brighton.
