Geraldine was the daughter of John Burt d'Aguilar and Mary Swainson. According to her daughter, Sheila she was the original Pony Girl! Horses were her passion and she was a very good rider. On retirement to England she added up all the horses she had ridden and it came to 291. She wrote to The Times asking if anyone could beat that. One man could but no women. She had a double wedding with her sister, Rosa Banks. They were married by her father so she was given away by Lord Napier of Magdala. She and Col. Alister had 2 daughters (one called Sheila) as well as the son shown.
