Dorothy Barnes was the only child of Cecil James Barnes (Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries; Company Secretary, John Dickinson, India) and his wife Jane (died 7 1 1953) of Ealing, Middlesex.
Dorothy was educated at The Study, Peek Crescent, Wimbledon and Bedford College, Regent's Park, London.
Dorothy was pre-deceased by her husband Dick and her ashes were buried near his under the Dawn Cypress tree in the garden of The Lodge, Little Tew, Oxon. She died in hospital.
